Etana is sometimes regarded as the first king and founder of Kish.

The Sumerian Etana is both Enoch and Nimrod in the bible.
The bible mentions the mysterious Enoch as a righteous man (Genesis 5:22) , but later destroys his reputation as the rebellious Ethiopian Nimrod (Genesis 10)

Enoch:
   - mysteriously gives his name to a city before the Flood (Genesis 4:17)
   - probably ascends into heaven (Genesis 5:24)

Nimrod:
   - establishes the city of Babel (Genesis 10:10)  
   - builds a tower to reach into Heaven. (Genesis 11:4)

The Sumerian Etana:
   - establishes the city of Kish 
   - ascends into Heaven on the wings of an eagle.

Note that Kish and Babylon(Babel) are geographically close together. 
Does the bible deliberately confuse Kish and Babylon?
Is the biblical "land of Cush" a secret code for the "Kingdom of Kish" ?

The Sumerian Etana is probably an Ethiopian "ancestor King".
i.e. Ethiopians being the ancestors of the Sumerians, in the sense that the Sumerian race later replaced Ethiopians in Mesopotamia. 
So presumably the Sumerian race had some Ethiopian ancestors.

The bible is a book written by Semitic people.
Thus the bible wants to forget about the Ethiopian Nimrod,so it confuses Ethiopian Nimrod with the Semitic Sargon of Akkad.
Sargon copied the accomplishments of Nimrod(Etana).
Sargon of Akkad united the nations in the Akkadian Empire, but Nimrod(Etana) united nations thousands of years earlier in an Ethiopian Empire.

Sargon's Akkadian Empire was around 2350 B.C.
The Nimrod Empire may have been 4000 BC or before: Perhaps during the Stone Age in Mesopotamia.

The real flood was prior to the time of Etana(Nimrod), thousands of years before Sargon of Akkad.
[In 1983, archaeologist Juris Zarins proposed the head of the Persian Gulf as the location for Eden.   
Working from his knowledge of Ubadian culture Zarins developed his hypothesis and proposed that Eden existed during the neolithic wet phase, placing it between 6000 to 5000 BC.

When the Sumerian King List mentions Etana after the flood, it becomes more correct than the bible. 
The bible tries to forget the Ethiopian Nimrod(Etana) , and places the flood around 2350 B.C. during the time of Sargon of Akkad.

Ethiopia is extremely ancient.

Ethiopia existed before the flood, because Havilah exists in the time of the Garden of Eden.
Havilah is a neighbour of the Garden of Eden, and Havilah is an Ethiopian Kingdom.

Genesis states that Havilah exists before the flood. [Genesis 2:11]
This biblical anachronism might be a hint that Cush existed before the flood.
So the Cushite Kingdoms might be extremely ancient, existing before the flood and after the flood.
Perhaps ancient Ethiopian kingdoms extend back into the stone age.
